The definition of a Graduate Gemologist is a person who earned a degree in the study of diamonds and colored gemstones. I am a Graduate Gemologist, earning my gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute Of America ( GIA ) in 1978. I have worked both retail & wholesale for the past 23 years. Over this time I have appraised approxmately 10,000 items of fine jewelry.
